Pregnant Pilates & Post-natal Pilates

Make your delivery easier and get back to your pre-baby body quicker

Pregnant Pilates

 Pilates is a wonderful form of exercise for the pregnant woman, it helps to;

  • Increase circulation to your growing baby rather than diverting blood from it like some other exercises
  • Relax the body and teaches breathing skills which will help during delivery
  • Strengthen the core muscles which can reduce your chance of lower back pain during pregnancy
  • Develops balance and co-ordination skills which can help as your bump gets bigger

If you are new to Pilates it is advised that you wait until the pregnancy is well established and start a course at 14 weeks plus.

The next 7 week Pregnant Pilates course starts on:

Friday 5th November 4:30pm - 5:25pm

Post-natal Pilates

Though we can't all look like Madonna a few months after childbirth, exercise can help to tone up the stretched muscles, promote good circulation and help with posture. Pilates can help post natal women to:

  • Strengthen the back
  • Improve posture
  • Strengthen the pelvic floor muscles
  • De-stress and relax after hard day

 The Pelvic Floor Muscle

Weakening of the pelvic floor muscle is common after childbirth.  The pelvic floor is not actually a 'floor' it is a hammock shaped muscle which supports your bladder and bowel.  For most people the pelvic floor muscle can be strengthened through exercise.

Bring your baby along!

The post-natal class is a great way to safely re-introduce exercise back into your life post birth, and is a great way to make new mum and baby friends.

You must have had your post-natal check before starting classes, 6 week check for a normal birth, 10 weeks for a c-section.

The next 7 week post-natal pilates course starts on:

Thursday 4th November 2010, 10:30am - 11:25am

Places are limited so don't delay, call to book today!

It is advisable to check with your GP before continuing with exercise during pregnancy or taking up exercise
