Prime Pilates for over 50's

Why you are never to old to start Pilates!

Joseph Pilates, aged 82

Joseph Pilates created the Pilates Method in the early twentieth century, he called his method Controlology as he believed the mind controlled the muscles.  He believed that ''you are only as young as your spine''.

As our bodies get older we tend to exercise less, the less we do, the harder it is for us to start again.  This is where Pilates comes in, it is a safe and gentle form of exercise particularly suitable for people who haven't exercised in a while.

It won't leave you out of breath, puffing and aching, yet is an excellent way to build strength and muscle tone and increase flexibility, co-ordination and mobility.   After a few sessions you should notice an increase in your mobility and range of movement.

Pilates is also beneficial for osteoporosis sufferers and those wishing to avoid it.

A great way to make new friends

Best of all is the chance to meet new friends, after every Prime Pilates class there is an optional 30 minute social.  We will visit a local coffee shop, a few doors down from the studio to relax and chat.

After all.....you have worked hard in class, you deserve it!
